How 2A Legal handles your data and what third-party services operate on this site.
Overview
2A Legal is a static website built to provide California firearms law education. We have no server-side data collection infrastructure. We do not operate user accounts, login systems, or databases that store personal information. This site is served as static files through a content delivery network. There is no backend application processing your requests or storing your data on our servers.
This privacy policy explains what information, if any, is collected when you visit 2A Legal, how browser-based features work, and what third-party services operate on this site that may have their own data collection practices.
Information We Collect
We do not collect personal information directly. There are no forms on this site that submit data to a server we operate. There is no registration process. There is no login system. There is no newsletter signup. There is no comment system. You cannot create an account on 2A Legal because accounts do not exist. We have no mechanism to collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other personally identifiable information.
Browser Local Storage
2A Legal uses your browser's localStorage feature to provide certain functionality. localStorage is a web technology that stores small amounts of data directly in your browser on your device. This data is never transmitted to any server, including ours.
We use localStorage for the following purposes:
- Bookmarked Q&A Questions (key:
2a-bookmarks): When you bookmark a question in our Q&A database, the bookmark is saved in your browser's localStorage so it persists between visits. This data exists only on your device. - Dismissed Law Alerts (key:
2a-alert-dismissed): When you dismiss a law alert notification, the dismissal is recorded in localStorage so the same alert does not reappear on subsequent visits.
This data never leaves your browser and is not sent to any server. You can clear this data at any time through your browser settings by clearing site data for 2a-legal.pages.dev. Clearing this data will reset your bookmarks and cause previously dismissed alerts to reappear.
Google AdSense
We display advertisements on this site through Google AdSense. Google, as a third-party advertising vendor, uses cookies and web beacons to serve ads on 2A Legal. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve advertisements to you based on your visits to this site and other websites across the internet.
You may opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings. Alternatively, you may opt out of third-party vendor cookies for personalized advertising by visiting www.aboutads.info/choices.

Amazon Associates
Product links on our gear recommendation and shop pages are Amazon affiliate links using the associate tag anime88801-20. When you click one of these links, you are taken to Amazon.com where Amazon's own privacy policy governs any data collection that occurs. We do not receive any personal information from Amazon about you or your purchases. The only information we receive from Amazon is aggregate reporting on clicks and commissions, which does not identify individual users.
CCW Defense Affiliates
Our site includes links to CCW defense services including USCCA, US LawShield, and CCW Safe. These are affiliate links, meaning we may receive referral compensation if you sign up for a service through our link. When you click these links and visit their websites, their respective privacy policies govern any data you provide to them. We do not receive personal information about you from these services. We have no access to your account information, application details, or any other data you submit to these providers.
Google Fonts
This site loads the Inter and Source Sans 3 typefaces from Google Fonts, a font hosting service operated by Google. When your browser loads fonts from Google Fonts, it makes a request to Google's servers. Google may collect your IP address and browser information as part of serving these font files. Analytics
We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any other analytics or tracking service at this time. We do not track which pages you visit, how long you spend on the site, what you click, or where you came from. We have no analytics dashboard and collect no usage metrics about individual visitors. If we add analytics in the future, this privacy policy will be updated to reflect that change.
Cookies
2A Legal does not set cookies. We have no server-side application that would issue cookies, and our client-side code does not create cookies. However, third-party services that operate on this site, specifically Google AdSense, may set their own cookies in your browser. These cookies are governed by Google's privacy policy and cookie practices, not ours. You can manage and delete cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers also offer options to block third-party cookies entirely.
Children's Privacy
This website is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Since we do not collect personal information from any users, there is no mechanism through which we could inadvertently collect information from children. California Privacy Rights
Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) and the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), California residents have specific rights regarding their personal information. Because 2A Legal does not collect, store, sell, or share personal information, these rights are effectively moot with respect to our site. We have no personal information to disclose, delete, or stop selling because we never collected it in the first place. For data collected by third-party services operating on this site (Google AdSense, Amazon, CCW defense affiliates), please exercise your California privacy rights directly with those services.
